Hello astrology believers and nonbelievers,
It’s Melanie, a semi astrology believer. What do you believe in? I hope you believe in the happiness that comes from saving your coin. Rihanna recently released the second installment of her much anticipated Fenty clothing line. The latest collection is bolder in color and offers more variety in print and silhouettes compared to the first release. Whereas the first release saw “sharp corset-dresses, constructed, oversized jackets, and straight fit and pleated jeans,” fenty clothing’s second release was intended for escape and travel, which renders itself to “light textiles with bright hues and eye catching prints (https://www.fenty.com/us/en/home).” But unlike the oh-so-sleek and aesthetic fenty makeup line we have all grown too accustomed to in our local Sephora, fenty clothing is for the bougie. The disparity in pricing between her makeup and lingerie line, which I have both bought from, and fenty clothing makes me want to look at my wallet and cry. Fenty clothing was co-created with the luxury company, LVMH, which explains the steep prices that make many, like myself, wonder if selling feet pictures on the internet isn’t so bad of an idea after all. I’m most definitely not part of the 1%, but I do know that I have a 1% chance of ever affording an artfully designed and crafted fenty clothing item. For now, I’m saving my money and admiring her pieces from the financial comforts of my laptop screen.
